All these types of devices may vary regarding to its internal technology, depending on the specific hearing needs of every patient. This is assessed through previous audiological tests, before choosing the proper prosthesis.
Nowadays, almost 100% of the fit prostheses are made of digital technology. This is due to the endless possibilities they have to be adapted depending on the different needs of every user. Therefore, within the digital range, we find high, medium and low-end products.
There are three aspects which determine the fitting of a specific prosthesis model:
1- Ear physiology: Will determine the size of the prosthesis: Behind-the-ear, Receiver-in-the-ear, CIC, Open Fit.
2- Audiological Study: Will determine the range (high, medium, low-end) depending on the characteristics of the patient's hearing loss.
3- Life style: Together with the audiological study, it will determine the range (high, medium, low-end) because each person lives in a different rhythm and in a different way. |
